Home schooling is rapidly becoming a education of choice for many parents. The reasons vary as the familes that choose to do so. Home schooling is nothing new , it is as old as the country itself, in fact as old as mankind. We didn't always learn in buildings and books. it is important to understand the history and significance of "home-schooling". It wasn't until the Industrial period that home schooling gave way to public education. That was the beginning of the " family working" period, yes f…

Information, The World's Greatest Commodity"
How do we know that? There are so many reasons why
information is the greatest commodity in the world. Information helps people. It spreads the knowledge of topics and subjects. It is the basis for every study, occupation, and hobby. The most important reason why information is the greatest commodity in the world, a reason that effectively sums up all others, is simple-everyone needs infor…

Tonight as I listened to Team Vision's Sunday night conference call, I was awed by the phenomenal testimonies about people who became Level 1 Directors after only 11 months of being in YTB, of people who worked the business one day a week for two hours and earned TWO $10,000 bonuses. As I listened, I could feel my pulse quickening and my heart racing, as my thoughts darted through my mind. What would I do tomorrow, the next day or the next, to ensure my family's success in the YTB Travel Network…

Hi Everyone,
It has been a couple of months since I was last on here. We have relocated from Fl or Cumming, Ga with my hubby's job, and this has been a big transition. We are finally all settled in and are hoping to locate a Christian group to connect with or a least one family that we can all relate with. We have no family here, except a distant cousin of my mothers, so it's really lonesome. I know there are lots of things to do here in Ga, but I would love a family or several to do them with.…

I looked out of my window today and saw a bus unloading a wheelchair with a disabled child in it. The mother smiled as she was speaking with the bus driver. It struck a chord in my heart. I 'felt sorry for her'.
When I see or hear about certain things in other people's lives I put my menial issues into their proper place. Do I really have it THAT bad? I am not saying she does- because I know God has given her the grace to keep going each day- but do I have the 'right' to murmur and complain abo…

There are so many voices today that 'represent God'. It is not an easy task to decide whom you should follow. That is why I have decided to FOLLOW JESUS.
I have finally learned throughout the years that I needed to find out what God's voice sounded like- for myself. I spent years of listening to everyone else say they have 'the voice of God'. I never tested what they said- just believed everything that came out of their mouth.
"The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh we… Continue

Sometimes there are days when I wonder if I'm doing the right thing.
If I'm even going to make it through the day. Days when I wonder if I should rethink the whole homeschooling thing and just put them in school. Sometimes, I wonder how much more would they be learning if I did. Then I wonder, how much would they not know if they were in school. There are times when I think that if I don't get a break...I'm going to break, and then at times, I pray that God would send a friend my way just to hav…

I recently watched a movie about a man who went into the future and found out the exact date he died- which happened to be about three days later. He spent his last hours trying to save someone else's life- which he did. It was interesting how he was not interested in saving his own.
At the end of the movie he made a statement- which I can not remember. I do know it had something to do with the one thing you wish for when you die- to to have your life back- which you can never get. This really…

I've changed jobs and it has almost completely taken me away from homeschooling. I don't feel like I'm being true to what I am supposed to be doing. I'm actually doing the same type of work that I was doing before, but for a different agency. At this new job I'm at the office almost the entire day. My husband is now homeschooling full-time and I only get to read to her before she goes to bed. Yesterday I fought through the fatigue of being in the office all day and took her to a local park to le…

Contentment means satisfaction with one's life; fulfillment with a peace of mind. Many think this is a curse word. It also has become one in the church!
Over the years I had so much anxiety and worry over my life. I finally learned to be content with GOD. I have learned how to quiet my soul and allow God to fulfill me. This sounds crazy- why not reach for the stars? I found out that there is so much that is missed when you focus on the stars instead of the God who created them...

I went to my door to tape up a sign for the UPS man and to my surprise, a young man was stuffing my children's ball into a car full of children. I yelled to my kids that someone was giving their ball away. I opened the door and yelled it again so he can hear me. He said, "oh- was that your ball? I found it in the street." I heard the woman in the car chuckle and drive off. He kept saying he was going to get the ball back for me, especially when all of my children came to the door to see what was…

I find myself wanting to do many and "great things for God"- but there is no time. I struggled with this in the past, but finally found my peace in Him. Where I am today is where He wants me to be. This is what I hear Him calling me to do- but the world laughs at it and calls it foolishness. I read that He is in the business of taking the foolish things and confounding the "wise"! I may be foolish in the eyes of many- but through this foolishness comes the wisdom and favor of God...

Gordon Neufeld - Thoughts on Homeschooled
The prevailing assumption is that the greatest drawback to homeschooling is the loss of social interaction with peers. Times have changed however, making peer interaction more of a problem than an asset. Instead or peer interaction facilitating the process of socialization, it is now more likely to lead to the premature replacement of adults by peers in the life of a child. Such children become peer-oriented rather than adult-oriented and are more diffi…

He needs to be part of it.

The designation Santa Claus comes from "Sinter Klaas" the Dutch name for St. Nicholas (referred to by some thinking people as St. Capitalist), a 4th Century bishop of Asia Minor who became the Russian patron saint of children, bankers, pawn brokers and thieves.
