About Me:: I am 44 year old mother of six. The kids range in age from 27 to 7! The grandkids range from 7 to 2 months! I am homeschooling my baby...oops...big boy. I also work as a program coordinator for a non-profit that addresses healthy pregnancy for African American women. And I help my hubbie with his real estate business.

Where did the month go?

Today is the 23rd of October and I promise I don't remember the first. We are schooling like crazy and are suppose to make a pinata tomorrow. But, my cracked tooth that needs a serious visit to the dentist is driving me crazy. I managed to squeeze in the State Fair of Texas last week on Coke can promotion day. The food prices were so high that I got sick just from adding how many tickets it would cost to feed my small family! (Mental note: bring soft cooler full of yummy food next year). Did…

FIRST GRADE

Today we started first grade! B. is so excited that he gets to read chapter books this year. Getting him to read today was easy, but he was totally resistant to anything else.

The new program that I been developing is being introduced to the public on Friday. It is all about Community-Based Doulas. I am hoping that everyone invited show up.
