I am homeschooling a 7-year-old and will be homeschooling my 16-month-old son starting at age 2.
What is your best homeschooling advice for newbie home educators? Or, if you are a newbie homeschooler, what would you most like to learn about homeschooling?
My best advice to a newbie homeschooler would be to connect with a local group of homeschoolers of color and if you can't find one, create your own. A homeschooling community of color is vital for your sanity and your children's happiness.
About Me:
I am a wife, writer, and homeschooling mom, of course. I love learning with my children. Mothering is the most rewarding endeavor I have ever embarked upon.

Hi Monica,
How are your gorgeous boys? I hope that this holiday season finds your relations with your father-in-law better.
Just remember that there are those of us praying for you, and that we will continue to keep you in prayer until the situation is resolved in His timing.
Blessings,
Genia

Greetings Everyone,
I'm just now reading all of your comments. Thank you for all of the cyber love. If only we lived closer. Thank you for the basketball resources and all of the encouragement. I'm thinking of working on the weekends so hubby will "feel" what it's like if only for 2 days. Blessings to all!
Surprise, it's your MM sis in DC. Talk to you soon.

Hi Monica,
I hope all is well. Have you made your hubby the offer to trade places with you for a week. I remember you said that you were still nursing. If so, borrow a pump, and let that man of yours see what you " do all day".

I'm sorry I know this is off topic, but I'm from Baltimore, and my maiden name is UTLEY. Do you have any family up this way?

I read your post at AFAMunschool and I wanted to share a fact with you which may be helpful...and I wish you well with your basketball lesson plan.
Basketball fact:
Earl Lloyd
*On this date-October 31st in 1950, Earl Lloyd became the first African-American to play in an NBA game.
The contest was between the Washington Capitols and the Rochester Royals with Rochester winning 78-70.
